Selection

To be considered for selection and enrollment in the training program, candidates must satisfy the following standard requirements:

  • Applicants must be Kenyan citizens and will be required to present a valid Kenyan national ID or passport at the time of application.
  • Applicants must be between 25 and 35 years of age and must provide valid identification to verify age.
  • Applicants must have completed Form Four and obtained a mean grade of D+ or above.
  • Applicants must be at least 5 ft 8 in (173 cm) tall.
  • Applicants must possess a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and provide their SHA, NSSF number and KRA PIN. Certified copies of all documents must be submitted; originals will be required for verification.
  • Applicants must submit letters of introduction from three referees. Each letter must include the referee’s full name, phone number and email address, be signed and dated, and be accompanied by a photocopy of the referee’s National Identity Card.
  • Applicants must submit an original letter of introduction from the local chief (signed and stamped), accompanied by a clear map of the applicant’s residential area.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the National Youth Service (NYS) is desirable and will be considered an added advantage during shortlisting; please provide proof of service where applicable.

Training

All applicants undergo an aptitude assessment; only those who meet the required standard progress to training. The program is a structured two-week course coordinated by the GS Training Officer and focuses on core skills, role-specific procedures, and practical strategies for day-to-day duties.

Recruits complete practical exercises and evaluations to ensure they are competent and ready to perform in line with our organisational standards.
