Selection

To qualify for selection and subsequent training, one has to meet the set standard requirements which include:-

Must be a Kenyan citizen
Age 25-35 years
Must be a form four leaver with a mean grade of D+ and above
Height 5, 8″
Must be in possession of certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
A letter of introduction from 3 referees, giving their contacts alongside photocopies of their National Identity Card
A letter of introduction from 3 referees, giving their contacts alongside photocopies of their National Identity Card
Knowledge and experience from the National Youth Service (NYS) is an added advantage.

Training

Before the commencement of the training process, a recruit has to be subjected to an aptitude test and only the qualified that proceed to the training stage.

The training covers a four week course coordinated by GL training officer aimed at equipping the recruits with relevant skills and strategies necessary for handling issues pertaining to their duties and responsibilities.

Company code of conduct
Drill
First aid
Fire fighting
Duties and responsibilities
Self defense
VHF radio communication
Telephone communication

Public Relations
Customer care
Self and Public discipline
Investigative Skills
Patrol and effective communication skills
Anti-terrorism
Professional Image presentation
